- Bleach with an at-home kit once or twice a year. These
kits get similar results to dentist bleaching, it just may take
longer to see them
- Never feel like you have to finish a kit, stop when you feel
you’re at the right shade. It’s best to check in bright daylight,
as bathroom lights can be deceiving
- Brush teeth with a gentle toothpaste, made for
sensitive teeth, after whitening. Look for toothpastes with baking
soda and peroxide
- Go for an electric toothbrush or a rotating one
- If you can’t brush your teeth after a meal, pop in a
piece of sugarless gum to keep discoloring plaque at
bay
- Floss every day from avoiding developing dark spots between
teeth
- After drinking coffee, red wine or other teeth staining
food or drink, swish some water around in your mouth or use a teeth
wiping product. If you’ve just bleached, you should avoid these
types of beverages completely for at least 3 days
- Don't chew ice or grind your tooth, it thins exterior of teeth
and makes teeth darker
- Wear lipstick with blue undertones (berries and
pinks)
