Tricky nail colors

Bright colors

  1. Keep nails short and rounded
  2. After a base coat, apply a white polish. This acts as a blank canvas for your chosen color
  3. Apply 2 thin coats of polish so color doesn’t look too pale
  4. Add 2 coats of top coat and reapply every couple of days - chips are really noticeable on bold colors

Pale or nude nails

  1. Start with a ridge-filling base coat – this maybe all you need for natural looking nails
  2. Let the base coat dry completely and then layer on an even swipe of topcoat so you don’t end up with streaks

Dark shades

  1. Keep dark nails short and rounded so they don’t come across as scary
  2. Always apply a basecoat as dark polishes can turn your nails yellow
  3. Paint 2 coats of color to draw out the actual hue
  4. Finish with 2 layers of top coat and reapply clear top coat every couple of days to avoid chips
