- Apply a moisturizer to act as a base as dry skin
doesn’t hold scent long. You can either choose an unscented
moisturizer or consider layering your perfume with a bath gel,
moisturizer, and perfume with the same scent for a longer-lasting
fragrance
- Wait to put on your jewelry and clothing until after you’ve
sprayed as fragrance can damage them, especially fabrics like
silk
- Where you spray is a matter of preference, but the best
places are wrists, neck, cleavage, behind the ear, behind the knees
and in the crook of your elbow. Don’t do them all at once, just a
couple of spots that make the most impact. For example, if you are
going on a date, behind the ear could be nice for a first kiss.
Have an important meeting? A little on your wrists will come out as
you shake hands
- Let the fragrance evaporate on it’s own. Rubbing a scented spot
will change the notes
- Store bottles in a cool, dark place out of direct
sunlight and humidity. Your refrigerator is an ideal spot,
especially during the summer. Your bathroom is not
- Read your bottle. Eau de parfum is more concentrated then an
eau de toilette and will therefore last longer. Use the parfum
(it’s usually the kind you dab, not spray) in the winter as it can
be too heavy in summer heat
